Well, now that we're nearly done with Sept. I'm finally ready to wrap up what we did over the summer. One of the highlights of the summer was...
Cousins!
We are so happy that Jon's brother and his family moved back to Florida. They may be on the other side of the state...but that's still loads better than the other side of the country! The kids are happy to have cousins they can see more than once every year or two.
In May we went to their coast and played in the big waves!

I have loved watching these two grow closer and play more together. Their 2 years age difference is seeming less and less as they grow...and they are finding they have more and more in common. They are both so imaginative and fun...and both are little 'drama queens'. They're so cute!

Emily and Elisabeth have grown up so much! They've always gotten along very well, and they continue to do so. Elisabeth always looks forward to spending time with Emily.
In August they came out to our coast to see our powdery white sand and calm waters.
The kids had a blast burying Jon. He said it felt great on is injured back. That's what I call a win win!
We also signed up for the free summer bowling program. It's not exactly free, because you've got to rent shoes...but still it's much cheaper and we were able to go with a few times with some of our home school friends. We even met a new family that has kids to match each of ours. They are now our good friends. Meeting new friends and meeting up with old ones,,,in an air conditioned building was a great summer activity.
Elisabeth's friend Hannah ,whom she hadn't seen in a year or two...spent some time with us this summer and actually ended up moving closer to us and will now be in our ward. In just a few weeks Libby will be joining her in Young Women and she can't wait. Hannah is such a great, sweet friend, and we're glad she's back in our lives.
It was way to hot to play outside, so mostly the kids played in the house. Here, they made a throne for King Nicholas!
Add this to an exchange student....swimming....movies....games....chores, and that's how we spent our summer vacation!
