This was our first time ever going to Busch Gardens. But now we can for the rest of the year free! We didn't even see half of what's there...so I'm sure we'll find our way back. We went with our friends the Cabrera's. We also went swimming with them all day the Saturday before. We had a lot of fun at the Pine Island pool. Sarah learned to jump off the diving board. I was there to help her swim back to the side. She also learned to dive down and grab dive toys off the bottom of the pool. She holds my hand the whole time for security, but she does all the swimming. She swam back and forth between Jon and I as well.
Nicholas usually chokes half to death if his face gets in the water at all. But, when he saw Sarah learning to swim he decided he wanted to do that too. He had his life Jacket off while he was playing on the stairs. Then he just stepped off the bottom step! Jon was right next to him, saw him under the water, and pulled him up. We couldn't believe he wasn't choking! And so Nic learned to hold his breath. He kept telling us he could do it himself. So we'd let go of him and he'd try to swim between us, or swim to the wall, and he'd grab the wall and pull himself up. It was fun and exciting to see him make so much progress, but it was also scary because he now has no fear and will have to be watched very carefully, every second.
The kids will all be taking swimming lessons when we get to Utah next week. Adam and Elisabeth are great swimmers already but will be in the higher levels working on their strokes.

All the girls loved this beautiful Butterfly bush. This is Savannah Michelle, Sarah Elizabeth, Sarah Michelle and Elisabeth Mckenzie. What a funny interweaving of similar names. Oh yeah, and Savannah and Adam have the same birthday! We loved living next door to the Cabrera's when we first moved to Florida. They made the transition away from family and friends so much easier. And even though we're not neighbors anymore (And havn't been for 2 years) They're still some of our best friends. It was great to spend the weekend with them. Jon and Rene are actually working together again, which is nice for them.
Here we are after a long day of being throttled by roller coasters and soaked with water. Elisabeth wore her tallest shoes (and stood slightly on the balls of her feet) and was just able to get on the Sheekra!. She loved it! Then we found another roller coaster that Adam would be tall enough to ride. It's called the Scorpian and has an upside down loop (a lot like the Collosus for you Utah people). When we got there we realized that Sarah was tall enough to ride it too! She was too scared at first but when Adam got off and said how much fun it was, and that he wanted to ride it again, she said she wanted to do it. I was afraid it was too rough and she would end up hating roller coasters but she really wanted to do it so I let her. Jon rode next to her and said it was fun to watch her face. She looked horrified sometimes, but when she got off she laughed and laughed and said it was "Awesome!"

Jon made this slow motion video of us getting soaked as the Sheekra splashes by. I think it's pretty funny. It sure did cool us off!
